Hi I'm Alex

I'm a Georgian, a student, a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Georgia. I'm part of a pretty big family. I have five siblings and we get along, usually. In school, I was in several clubs, such as: Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America; Communities Mobilizing for Change in Alcohol; and Theater Club. Theater Club was definitely my favorite. I absolutely loved getting on stage, in some ridiculous costume, and entertaining people. I'm attending school for a degree in Civil Engineering. I've always loved looking at buildings made of creative architecture, and since I'm good at math, but not much else, I decided that this would be a good fit. So far, it's turned out to be true. I'm really excited to be a part of this career. I hope to someday be married for all time and eternity in one of God's holy temples. I know that the temple is the only place where we can do that, and I hope that Heavenly Father will allow me to do so in this life. I intend to raise my children I this faith because I know of the great blessings that it brings. I know that there is no better environment in which children can be raised than in a home founded on gospel principles. I look forward to the great blessings that will come from being sealed as an eternal family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have no doubts about this church. I was born into this faith, and I feel so blessed for that. I was able to be taught, as a child, that God loves me endlessly. I was taught how to pray and how to show my love for others. I was taught what makes my religion different from others. Now, as an adult, I'm happy to know that I was lucky enough to be raised in Christ's church. Because I have been taught about Christ and His church, I know that this church is His church. I have had my own experiences that have helped me to feel God's love for me. One way I have felt this is through prayer. On numerous occasions I have prayed to talk to my Father in Heaven. No matter how big or small my problem is, He is always there to help me. I then always make sure to pray to thank Him. He never fails me. He always lifts me higher. And I know, without a shadow of a doubt, He will never abandon me. I know God loves His children, and nothing we ever do will make Him stop loving us. He wants us to live in the best way we can. Our Heavenly Father wants nothing more than for us to return to Him to live with Him forever. He wants us to help each other get to our home in Heaven, and I know that is my purpose in life- to help others to know and feel His love and have the same desire I do to return to Him with all our family. I will continue to do everything in my power to return to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

In church, I've served many different ways. As a teenager, I helped plan my class activities and encourage girls who hadn't been at church for awhile to come back. Serving that way helped me to make some of my best, lifelong friends. Of course, I didn't serve to benefit myself; it was always to help other people feel welcome and invited to church. I definitely know what it feels like to be someone on the outside with no friends, so I always do everything that I can to help everyone else to know that they belong at church with us. I love being able to help other people feel the happiness and comfort that this church provides. My love for this church is what compelled me to serve my mission. Right now, I'm serving as a missionary in the Washington Vancouver Mission. It is the best thing ever! I love being a part of God's work. I have never felt so happy to be so exhausted. I have never smiled so much, loved so many, or tried so hard as I have since I began my service. There truly is nothing on Earth that can bring more joy to someone than to share the gospel with others. I have learned how to love strangers, something I never thought I would do. But since being out here, I have come to truly understand that we are all children of God, that He loves us individually, and that He wants the best for each of us. I am so grateful to be a part of this work and to have the opportunity to proclaim the gospel to God's children.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is our loving Father in Heaven. He loves us completely and wants the best for each of us. He has created a perfect plan through which we can all return to live with Him. God has not left us here to wander alone; through prayer we can communicate with Him to strengthen our relationship. He loves us and He wants to communicate with us. If we do what He has asked of us, He promises great blessings. I'm so grateful to know that I am truly a daughter of a Heavenly Father, Who has promised me great things, Who speaks to me, Who loves me completely and endlessly. I know that God is literally our all-powerful Father in Heaven with great things in store for each of us. Show more Show less
