Hi I'm Analise

I'm a country girl with a city heart. I love more than anything my family and religion. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in a country town and love the mountains. After living in the city to go to school, coming home is like a little piece of paradise. Out of everything I miss the most though, I miss the stars. Although I love the country, the trill of living in the city calls to me: all of the different people with so many different stories to tell. I want to hear them all, learn of their cultures, hear their languages. I love food and I love the idea that what we put into our body can effect how our our body will treat us when we are older. As such, my area of study is Nutrition. I desire to help mothers and children from impoverished countries learn how to eat healthily for cheap. I also enjoy singing and wish to travel someday. Places on my list to visit include Ireland, France, England, and Japan just to list a few.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member all my life. My parents have been members and their parents before that have been members as well. People have asked me how I know I want to be a member if I haven't experienced anything else. The truth is, I don't want to. I do not follow the commandments just because I am told to, I follow them because I want to. We have been promised blessing if we obey and I have had so many blessings in my life because I have followed the teachings that are found in the scriptures. I know that Christ lived. I have prayed and I have felt piece and comfort. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and anyone who has a real desire to know what I know and feel what I have felt only has to read it and pray. The Spirit will testify. The truth will be made known.

How I live my faith

Recently, I was called as the Sunday School teacher in my Young Single Adult ward. Boy, was that tough. I felt like many of the other members of the ward were much more qualified to teach, but I realized that this calling was as much for me as it was for them. Since this calling, my scripture study has improved and I feel I understand the gospel more fully. I enjoy participating in the ward choirs as they are a way to lift my voice in song and praise. There is never a time a feel closer to my Heavenly Father than when I'm singing praises to him. I also enjoy working with the children and seeing the light of Christ shine so brightly through their eyes and to learn from them how to be humble and trusting.
