Hi I'm Mackendy Damis

I was born in Haiti, I moved to the states when I was about twelve years old and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I like to stay positive about life, create fun, have a blast, go on adventures so I can enjoy the little things in life, laugh, play sports. I love being around people (especially friends) and love to enjoy life!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was about 15 years old my parents invited the missionaries over and they started talking to me and my brothers the were four of us at first I wasn't really interested in what they had to say, but then I started getting interested over time and when the time came I wanted to listen. They then asked me to pray about it and when I did, I received an answer and joined the church. When I entered into the waters of baptism it was an amazing experience. I stayed in the church for about a year but stopped going to church and was not active in the church for a really long time, but I never forgot about those feelings that I had when I was going to church. Eventually something hit me like a 50 pound weight in the head and it told me to go back to church, so I did and those same feelings returned. I wasn't sure if I wanted to serve a mission in the church or not, but one day I asked God whether I should come out on a mission or not. As soon as I asked God in mighty prayer, I felt a burning in my chest that was so strong that I smiled. At that moment I realized that Heavenly Father wanted me to serve a mission; I also realized that the church is true. I can tell anyone that I know that Heavenly Father lives, that Jesus Christ is His beloved son and that it is because of His atonement that we can be saved. I know that this gospel is true, every single word of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by bearing my testimony
