Hi I'm Alyssa Pieper

I am a small town girl, Aunt of 13, and I love the simple things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

While growing up in a small farm town and coming from a large family of 9 kids I have learned to love what is around me. I love the simple things like playing dress up with my nieces and nephews, looking at the clouds, and trying a new flavor of ice cream. I also love the outdoors, playing the piano, and helping people with disabilities.

Why I am a Mormon

It's really simple. I know Heavenly Father understands and loves me better than I know myself. This knowledge has not come all at once or by my parents' beliefs; but by taking my own steps of discovering the truth. Since I was old enough to speak I was taught to get on my knees every day and pray to my Heavenly Father. It may have seemed silly then... but years down the road my childhood prayers have turned into daily conversations on my knees and countless silent prayers in my heart with my Best Friend. He listens and understands what I go through everyday despite my weaknesses, frustrations, and regrets. He always sends me the comfort that everything will be okay tomorrow if I continue to trust in Him and His son Jesus Christ. I have come to understand what part I play in His plan. I know that Heavenly Father speaks to us today not only through prayer but also through a living Prophet and the scriptures. The Prophet and the scriptures (Book of Mormon especially) provide an anchor of truth that guide me through each day. Because of Heavenly Father's plan of happiness, I know I can be with my family, my best friends for eternity.

How I live my faith

DAILY prayer + DAILY scriptures = DAILY purpose Through doing these two things I am able to see what is most important to either add or take out of my life. I'm not always perfect at this, but I know "in His strength I can do all things" [Alma 26:12] as I do my best. I am grateful to serve even in the smallest ways. In the past I have served by playing the piano in primary (Children's singing time in church), serving a year and a half mission in the New York, New York South Mission, and through looking for simple ways to help others.
