Hi I'm Charlotte

Hi I am a Mormon and I write poetry from an LDS perspective

About Me

I am a busy mum of five who loves poetry and although I work full time in a primary school, I have found the time to compile a book consisting of poems I have written throughout my near thirty years membership. These poems are poems of discovery. They allow me to express my faith and understanding in the genre that I appreciate most. Every time I read them, I am reminded of why I believe.

Why I am a Mormon

In my youth I tried to run away from it, giving every excuse there was as I thought the rules were too restrictive. However, gradually, I came to the realisation that the doctrines and participles are what sets me FREE TO BE. I am not a slave to alcohol, drugs or sex. I know where I was before my birth, I know the purpose of my life here on earth and I know the promise that's in store for me if I fulfil my destiny. I know that My Saviour died for me, therefore, to these ends I am grateful for my membership. WHY I AM MORMON? because that's all I want to be.

How I live my faith

I taught in a programme we call Seminary for five years. In this, school children from the ages of fourteen to eighteen enrol, like a college, and are taught Monday to Friday from 6 to 7 am.during the school term. This programme gave me so much insight into the doctrines and principles of the Church. This is where I gained my testimony- with the children. It became a learning experience for all of us. I love it, needed it and appreciated it. We had so many spiritual experiences in our class. The Spirit of God testified to us that Jesus is indeed the risen Christ and that this is His true Church, to which I have no doubt. I am so grateful to still be involved in Seminary, but not having to teach every morning, I oversee the teachers in my stake offering support as and when needed.
