Hi I'm Brian

I'm an Idaho boy, I love running, skiing, and wake boarding. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in North Idaho playing in the lake and on the mountains. Being physically active is really important to me. In high school I played football, lacrosse, and ran track. During my first year of college I picked up long distance running and have since run two marathons. Currently I am studying Biology and preparing for dental school. When I'm not studying I'm out running, skiing, or wake boarding. I believe that living a healthy life leads to living a happy life. I recently returned from serving a two year mission for the LDS church in Uruguay where I learned to speak fluent spanish and grew to love the people there! Throughout my life I have faced many challenges but I know that with God's help we can overcome all. I am a firm believer that when we set goals and put forth the necessary effort, putting aside the fear of failure, we can accomplish great things in our lives!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My parents taught me the Gospel well but I still needed to find out for myself if it was true. Throughout my adolescent years I searched my soul to find out who I was and what my purpose was. When I allowed the Spirit to testify to me that Christ was and is my Savior I found more purpose in life. I had a desire to do good and to help others. I know that I am a child of God. He cares and loves me. I know that He is involved in the details of my life. He has a deep love for all His children! I love the Book of Mormon. I know that it is the word of God and that all that truly desire to do God's will can also find out that it is true by simply asking God. I know that there is a living prophet on the earth today. What a great blessing it is to know that revelation is given to him by God to help us live the Gospel in today's challenges and circumstances! Lastly, I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He can heal our sin-stained souls. Pain and guilt of past mistakes can be completely removed through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I find such great joy in having a knowledge of these things!

How I live my faith

I live my faith pretty simply. Daily prayer and scripture study are essential to me. I know that just as we need daily physical sustenance we also need daily spiritual sustenance in order to live a happy life. I love attending church every Sunday and remembering the Savior and what He did for me. I enjoy serving others on a daily basis even if it is only a small act of kindness. I keep a daily journal in which I write down how I saw the Lord's hand in my life that day and also a record of those things which I am grateful for. In my opinion living my faith is pretty simple, but it requires a conscience effort everyday. I believe that it's possible to attain great amounts of joy in this life regardless of the challenges that we face. This joy is attained by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ which is why I'm excited to share this message with all!

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith as a fourteen year old boy in the year 1820 saw much confusion in the US with regards to which church was truly the the church of God. All the leaders of the churches said that their church was the truth. Joseph prayed and asked God which church was true and in response God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ appeared to him. They instructed him that he was to join none of the churches and that the true church was not yet found on the earth. Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet of God, as was Moses and Abraham of the Old Testament. Through Joseph Smith the true church of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth, the same church that Christ established when He was on the earth. Joseph Smith was and is a true prophet of God.
