Hi I'm Rebecca Emmerson

I grew up in Cambridge, England. I'm an optimist, a missionary, I love people, being creative, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving in the Alpine German-Speaking mission, I can't think of a better way to be spending the next eighteen months of my life than bringing others unto Christ. I grew up in a small village just outside of the beautiful city of Cambridge, England, to two wonderful parents. I have two brothers, I'm the middle child, and although my family do not share my religious beliefs, they are so supportive of everything I do, it's amazing. I love to travel, see new places and meet new people, I hope that after my mission I'll be able to embark on many more adventures. I love to play the guitar and sing (badly), its been one of my very favourite things to do for many years, along with tap dancing, having fun with my friends and being creative. I love the Gospel with all my heart, it changes lives and brings unimaginable amounts of happiness and peace. Life is great, and I'm so excited for the future and the adventures still to come.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of this church impacts my life in so many ways. I am a Mormon because I couldn't imagine living my life without the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I make the decision everyday to remember my Savior, Jesus Christ, and the sacrifice that he made for us all. I'm a convert, I took the first discussion two and a half years ago when I was seventeen, and I was baptised a few months later when I was eighteen. At first the church was something I had no intention of joining, however, I reached a point where I could no longer deny the truth, and I knew that baptism was absolutely the right decision. I think about the decision that I made to be baptised everyday, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity that I had at such a young age. Being Mormon is a lifestyle, I find that the more I surround myself with the gospel, the happier I am. We live in a world that often makes keeping the commandments tough, however I know that obedience is the key to happiness, especially when the reason for obeying is our love for our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I am Mormon because I can see the difference between my life now and my life before I was a member, I am a witness of the changes and happiness that the Gospel can bring. I am Mormon because I love my Savior and the truth that has been restored.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through remembering my Savior daily, and the covenants that I've made with my Heavenly Father. Right now I am living my faith through dedicating eighteen months of my life to being a full time missionary, there is no greater joy than seeing the changes and happiness that the gospel can bring to those around you. I have served as a ward missionary and a primary teacher in my ward, I spent the majority of my calling teaching the Sunbeams, the cutest three year olds I've ever met. Teaching primary was great fun, there was nothing more uplifting than hearing my Sunbeams sing 'I Am a Child of God' and 'I Love to See the Temple', they are so pure and have the sweetest spirits. I live my faith through being proud of what I believe in and trying my hardest to serve others, I believe that service is the definition of happiness. I try my hardest to pray and study my scriptures daily, these things help to build and maintain faith, and bring so much peace and happiness each day.
