Hi I'm Kate

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Ut. I am studying Fashion Design and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 23 years old and have grown up loving art and especially creating clothes. I started studying Fashion Design after I graduated high school and have loved every minute of it. As well as art, sports always grabbed my attention and I played competitive soccer and basketball for many years. I am number 5 of the 6 kids in my family. My family is very important to me, we love to spend time together. I am addicted to traveling and have a big desire to see much of the world. I have been to India and many places throughout Europe and America!

Why I am a Mormon

I was feel very blessed to have been taught the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ from such a young age it has given me strength each day. I know I can always rely on my Savior Jesus Christ and it is through him I have been able to overcome any challenge that has been put before me. From the little things that may have seemed like a huge deal in high school such as not winning a basketball game to the big things like when my parents got divorced I was able to find peace and comfort that can only come from the Lord. I know with all my heart that Jesus Christ gospel was restored by a latter-day Prophet Joseph Smith and that we are continually lead by a Prophet who leads and guides us back to our Heavenly Father. Heavenly Father loves us so much he is in every detail of our lives. I am grateful for this knowledge it helps me keep going everyday!

How I live my faith

Growing up I was very involved with the youth group in my Church, we learned skills and attributes such as faith, knowledge, individual worth, integrity, and did a lot of service out in the community. I learned the role I have to play as a daughter of God in this world. In a world where values and standards are always changing believe it is important to live to Gods standards and share our Saviors light.

What is faith?

Kate
I asked myself this question a lot growing up... I however believed that I had faith but always in the back of my head wondered what exactly it meant. I decided to serve a full time mission for the church and as I taught others what faith was it helped me understand what exactly it was. Not that I fully understand it yet but this is an analogy that has help me! Picture you are in a row boat floating in a pond. Your goal is to get to the other side and so you have been given two ors. One or represent belief the other or represents work. If you are only using the belief or where are you going to go? Most likely just in circles. The same thing applies if you are just using the work or. Therefore in order to move forward we need to both believe and work. BUT.. What are we putting out belief in??? It must be Jesus Christ! If we want to get to the other side of the pond we must row going forward. If out belief is in other things the we will not get across the pond because we will be rowing in other directions. It is also important to remember that even if we just have a little bit of faith we can still move in the right direction. Success is not always just a perfect straight line from point A to point B. We all have swirls and zig zags in our path. We can make it to the end as long as we remember who we should have faith in. I hope this helps and makes sense! Show more Show less
