Hi I'm Emily

I'm 18 years old, and Utah-bred! Now I'm a student in Tennessee, play the violin, love to write, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah, but now I'm pursing a degree in classical Violin Performance in Tennessee. I love all things music, all things cowgirl, and all things M&M's! I have the best parents in the world, 5 wonderful siblings, 3 lovely sibling-in-laws, and the 2 cutest nephews you've ever seen! When I grow up, I want to play the violin professionally. I also love to write, go hiking, spend time with friends and family, and travel. I can't wait for the day when I have a husband and a family of my own and get to spend my eternity with those I love most!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because being a member of this church gives me happiness, fulfillment, assurance, understanding, direction, and purpose in my life. This gospel is always consistent; there is never a second in the world where God is not there for you or for me. Though hardships and trials will always be in this world, through relying on the gospel of Jesus Christ and His miraculous atonement, I find the peace and confidence in the promise that I will always get through such experiences stronger and more capable. Being a member of this church gives me hope and help in every aspect of my life. My musical endeavors, my academic pursuits, the relationships I have with those around me - these things in my life are all elevated and saturated with purpose as I abide by the precepts of this gospel. I feel extremely blessed to be a member of this church and I strive daily to be the best Disciple of Jesus Christ that I can. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I play the piano to accompany the singing at church, and I organize special musical numbers for Sunday services. I love getting to know the people with whom I attend church each Sunday, and learn about their talents through these callings! I attend a weekly meeting on Wednesdays, too, called Institute. We learn more about our Savior Jesus Christ and have an extra boost of spirituality in our week. I worship on my own everyday, too, so that I stay close to God. I study the Bible and the Book of Mormon each day and I pray to God several times a day. I do my best to be kind, honest, respectful, obedient, and patient so that I may be a worthy witness and example of Jesus Christ's church. I refrain from using foul language and from smoking and the consumption of coffee and alcohol, even when the use of such things is prevalent around me. As a Mormon, I'm the minority at my school in Tennessee, and so I feel it a responsibility to represent our church well through these things.
