Hi I'm James Redford!

I just like to have fun and stuff.

About Me

My friends and family mean the world to me. I hang out with my brothers more than anyone, and my best friend who we've practically adopted into the family hangs out with us as well. I also love music. My main instrument is the violin but I also love playing the guitar. Plus, I have always loved singing :) In high school I was in a rock band called Mere Image. It was literally the most fun I've ever had in my life and we took first place in Utah's state battle of the bands! Besides that I like to spend time outside. Hiking, boating, and mountain biking are some of my absolute favorite things. However, I still love video games and while classic Nintendo series like the Legend of Zelda and Metroid are my favorite, I also enjoy playing online games of every kind with my friends and brothers. I'm currently serving the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh mission and I've loved it from day one :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but I always hated the church as a child. I would try to take the mile long walk home from church every Sunday to go play video games. But when I turned eight and got baptized it all changed. I started loving church, I always wanted to go, and I started seeing the works of the Lord. I was constantly impressed by all those around me and I have seen so many little miracles. I know what it is to feel the spirit and I have learned to identify it and love it. I know this gospel is true because I remember what it's like to hate this gospel and to feel the change and learn to love it.

How I live my faith

It's just a natural, everyday thing for me. I think one thing that's important to know is when you need to follow somebody's example, and when you need to learn from somebody's mistakes. You don't need to get hit by a car to know it's bad to play in the streets, so you don't need to commit sin to know it's bad and will bring you misery. It's never okay to justify your actions because of the sins of others. Don't compare yourself to others because that is the very definition of pride. Simply strive to be your best self, that's where you'll find happiness, my friend :)
