Hi I'm Chelsea

I am from the Pacific Northwest. I am live in Utah, working as an art teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being an art teacher. It's something that I have wanted to do since I was in high school. I really enjoy teaching and working with young people, as well as keeping up with contemporary art. I moved around a bit when I was growing up--I lived in Indonesia with my family for a couple of years for my dad's work, then moved to Texas for a little over a year, before moving back to the Northwest. I love being outdoors. Every summer I look forward to spending lots of time camping, hiking, fishing, cycling, and other such delightful things. I also enjoy cooking spicy food, reading, learning new things, and making stuff.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the teachings of this church are true--it is the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Christ is my Savior. Christ said, in John 10:10, "I come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." That is what being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints does--it brings life and it brings it more abundantly. I can't imagine living without the gospel. It does not eliminate trials from my life but it gives me the strength to bare those trials and the faith to learn from them. It helps me to understand who God is and who I am. It gives me purpose and perspective. The gospel gives me hope through the Atonement of Christ. In spite of all of my faults and weaknesses, the grace of Christ is always there. It allows me to start over when I fall, to get back up each time I stumble. I am so grateful for the love and mercy of God.

How I live my faith

I have had many great opportunities to serve in my church. I have been a Sunday School teacher for children as well as people my own age, I have been a girls camp leader, planned activities for young single adult groups, and served as a leader for the women's organization in my ward. I have learned so much from each of these experiences. Serving is such a wonderful way to get outside of yourself and focus on those around you. I love that my church provides me with so many meaningful opportunities to serve.
