Hi I'm Colton Mitchell

I'm from Utah, I love music, art, and making movies. I'm a missionary and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love telling a story wither it be through a play, musical, music or a movie. I've worked on feature length film as an intern, made several short films, and a bee keeping documentary. I have been in about 14 plays from school and in the community, including Les Mis, Fiddler on the Roof, and The Drowsy Chaperon. I've been in Choir for much of my life. I can play the guitar, and love to sing. I am currently serving a Mission in Houston Texas in the Spanish Language. I love hearing about people and where they come from and what experiences they have had in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I feel confident in who I am and what my future will bring. Also because I know life is not easy, and the love of Jesus Christ that I feel helps me get through the hard times. He has helped me so many times. When I was a little kid I was lost many a times (once in Las Vegas) but someone always would help me find my way home, and that's how I feel about the church. I learn that through Christ we can all come back home. He has a plan for all of us, so we can improve ourselfs, and become more like him.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time mission, and giving service to those in the church and those in the community. I am trying to share the happiness this gospel brings me to others. The world is full of confusion but through the gospel everything makes sense, and that why I'm sharing my testimony by being a missionary.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Colton Mitchell
Our purpose in this life is to prepare to meet God. We are here to learn and to become better. None of us are perfect but life is a process of becoming better. We are here to obtain experience and form relationships through families. We do this so we can learn how to love one another and learn how to become the best us we can become. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Colton Mitchell
Joseph Smith was one of Gods prophets like Moses and Noah. At a young age Joseph Smith was very concerned on the subject of religion. There was a great religious excitement at his time and he felt very confused. He knew that there had to be one way to receive salvation from God but so many churches doctrines contradicted each other. He asked god which church he should join and Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him. They told him that none of the churches at that time had the full gospel but through Joseph Smith Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ Restored the same church that Christ established in his day. What is the Book of Mormon?

Colton Mitchell
The Book of Mormon is the word of god and it Testifies of Jesus Christ and his Mission like the Bible. It is a collection of writings of the Lords prophets in the ancient Americas. It speaks of Christs ministry, his resurrection and his atonement and what it means for us. If one reads the Book of Mormon and asks god with true sincerity if it is true they will receive an answer. Are Mormons Christians?

Colton Mitchell
I once meet a man who defined a Christian is someone who is Christ-like, and Christ is in the center of our beliefs. "... We talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ," - 2 Nephi 25:26. We know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer that he paid for our sins and only through him can we return home to our Father in Heaven. Yes we are Christians and we will always be.
