Hi I'm Dean

I’m a Licensed Psychologist, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and I’m a Mormon.

About Me

We’ve been married for 34 years. We have 7 children and will soon have 6 grandchildren. My interests have been whatever might help raise healthy, responsible children (soccer, softball, wrestling, music, theater, scouting, camping, hiking, gardening, serving in our church, fitness runs with the fam, and so forth), and which might deepen my relationship with my wife and with God. I’m interested in emergency preparedness and genealogy.

Why I am a Mormon

I have experienced the effect of the Atonement of Christ in my life. My faith promotes closeness to God, provides a sense of happiness and peace, and gives me purpose and direction in my life. As John states, the Spirit bears witness. I choose to believe based on the witnesses of the Spirit I have experienced. These have come through recognizing the Hand of God in normal daily life, and through focused, reasoned knocking and seeking. Reason and experience support the decision to believe.

How I live my faith

I center my life on family relationships and on rendering meaningful service to others to express my love to the Savior. I have worked with the youth of our church for decades (such as in Boy Scouts) and in various leadership and teaching opportunities in the LDS church. My constant desire is to discover the will of God in my life and to do it. I’m writing this right now in hopes that it will help you somehow in your journey.
