Hi I'm Tom LeCheminant

I from California. I like to mountain bike, play baseball, and listen to music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in California. I love to play sports, especially baseball. I played baseball for 8 years as a center fielder and a pitcher. I have five brothers and sisters, two older brothers, two older sisters, and a younger brother. We all love hanging out together! I go to BYU and am studying to get into dental school. I love listening to music, especially RUSH, The Who, and Pink Floyd. I would tell you that I am super outgoing and have started multiple nonprofit organizations, but that would be a lie.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. Why does it make me happy? Well everything about it encourages me to be better. It helps me strive to be the best I can. I have read the Book of Mormon and found out for myself that it is the word of God. I love reading that book along with the Bible. They both make my life better and drive me to improve my life as well as others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one step at a time. I'm always trying to do something nice for someone else, whether it's making them laugh or giving a listening ear. I try to be an example to all those around me. I try to always act in a way God wants me to. I also try to help others stregnthen their faith.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Tom LeCheminant
"Restorations" have occurred multiple times as recoded in the Bible. Think about the Sadducees and Pharisees in the Bible. During Christ's ministry He had to correct them multiple times on what the law of Moses truly meant. Yet the Sadducees and Pharisees had the law of Moses written down before them all along! In a sense, Christ brought about a restoration. Even after Christ died, his followers began to veer away from the truths they had been taught. This is why many of the epistles from the apostles recorded in the Bible were written, to correct the things the early church was starting to do wrong. Just imagine what happened when the apostles were no longer around to correct the early church when false teachings arose! That is why there are so many different churches and beliefs concerning Christ. There was no ordained leader to establish what was doctrine and what was not, so the people divided. That is why God called another prophet, Joseph Smith, to be an ordained leader to reestablish what true doctrine was, just like Christ did with the Pharisees and Sadducees, just like the apostles did with the early church.
