Hi I'm LeeAnn Shaffer

I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area, I love music, and I'm serving a mission in Rancho Cucamonga, California! .

About Me

I'm 20 years old, I love hiking, and was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. I don't think I'll ever be able to live somewhere that isn't close to the ocean. I love being able to make others smile, and I want to be a nurse someday. I grew up with my mom, dad, and 2 younger sisters. I love my family and can't wait to have one of my own. I also love Mexican food, and good music.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, honestly, because my parents are Mormon. But I'm a Latter-Day Saint because I made the decision to stick with it. None of this was ever forced on me. I made the decision to go to church. I read the Book of Mormon on my own, and I prayed to ask that it was true. And I received my answer. Anyone can if they ask with real intent, having faith in Christ. I've seen the blessings that the Gospel has brought to me as I keep the commandments and live in such a way that I can have the Spirit with me constantly. Serving a mission has taught me so much about what it means to be a true follower of Jesus Christ, and now I can't imagine living life in any other way. I know who's I am. I know that we are all children of a loving Heavenly Father and with that knowledge, we can add more purpose and meaning to our lives than we could ever comprehend.

How I live my faith

I'm still trying to figure out how to do this everyday! But there's is a scripture in 1 Timothy 4:12 that says, "Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." This has become kind of a theme for my mission, and for the rest of my life. As a missionary we must be an example of the believers. We literally represent Jesus Christ. But its here, on our missions, that we learn how to do this so that we can return home and continue to do it.
