Hi I'm Jace

I sunburn easily, love mexican food, and I remember the Alamo.

About Me

I like learning new things. I like playing the piano, free-styling, and making people laugh. I am terrible at golf. I like playing ultimate frisbee and watching college football. I have worked as a roofer, a door-to-door salesman, and a waiter. My dream is to have one of those little dogs with wheels for its back legs. I love my family and reaching out to make friends. Above all, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

The peace the gospel can bring to us can't be replicated by anything else. The Book of Mormon is incredible in how reading it can change your day 180 degrees from miserable to bearable, or even joyful. You can't serve two masters (3rd Nephi 13:24), so every day I'm choosing to serve my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

For 2 years I'm helping my spirit brothers and sisters in Iowa come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I miss my family and friends back in Texas, but I owe it to my Savior to share the blessings that have entered my life from living the gospel of Jesus Christ. The greatest joy is when people realize how Jesus Christ can help them and begin to act and make changes in their lives.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Jace
Great question! So, the Book of Mormon is a collection of writings from prophets in the Americas from 600 BC to 421 AD. It was mostly abridged by Mormon, one of the last of these ancient prophets, which is where it gets its name, and where The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gets its nickname. The prophets in the Book of Mormon reveal Heavenly Father's plan for all of us and also testify of Jesus Christ. Hmm sounds like the Bible. So why do we need both of them? The Bible is awesome, but look at how many churches there are that claim to believe in the Bible. You can talk in circles about interpreting the Bible all day long. Thankfully, the Book of Mormon helps clarify the Bible, and provides a second witness, or additional testament of the life and teachings of Christ. You can argue about it if you'd like, but the only way you're going to know if it is the word of God or not is to actually read it. Just as Moroni 10:4 says, read it, pray about it sincerely, and the Holy Ghost will tell you it is true. I know it is true because I have done just that. So give it a shot. I promise it will bless your life more than you think it can. Show more Show less
