Hi I'm Mariann Telford

I'm a California girl and stay at home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom to three beautiful children. My husband and I have been married for just over 11 years. I cherish my relationship with my husband and children. As a family, we love to have fun together, whether it is a day at the beach, the mountains, science museums, or screaming our heads off on the latest thrill rides. Living in southern California, we have the opportunity to all these things several times a year. I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics and studied mathematics and statistics. Before having children, I worked as an Actuarial Analysis. I love to read and have passed along this love to my children. The best time of day is when I get to read with my children. I love to relive old favorites and discover new favorites too! I especially love science fiction and fantasy novels. I enjoy cooking and getting crafty on occasion. I also like to crochet when I have the time. A wonderful friend introduced me to the fun of participating in 5ks. I am not very athletic, but keeping active has helped me keep up with my children!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being a Mormon has brought me happiness and joy. I'm grateful for my relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I will always treasure that relationship. Knowing my family can be eternal strengthened me when I lost my parents. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me hope.

How I live my faith

Right now I serve as the president of an organization for young women, ages 12 through 18, for my local church. People notice the youth of our church. They have strong values and are not afraid to stand for what they believe. They are willing to serve in our community and schools. In our church, we have an incredible program called the Personal Progress program for our young women. In this program, these young women learn, study, and apply 8 different values in their lives: faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integritiy and virtue. It is an honor to work with these amazing girls! As a family, we study the words to God together and pray together. We have seen prayers answered and received direction through the word of God to improve ourselves and help one another. Once a week, we spend a special night learning and talking about a gospel principle. Because of my faith, I know that my family is special and important and that I need to devote time to building my relationship with them.
