Hi I'm Don Runquist

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints know by many as a mormon. I was baptized in 1968.

About Me

I was born and raised as a member of the United Church. In 1967 I met a girl who is LDS and became interested in learning about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. I graduated as a physiotherapist from the University of Alberta and worked for 10 years in hospitals in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, Alberta before moving to B.C. and starting a private practice in Maple Ridge where we lived for 28 years having 5 children. Our lives were very involved with our kids in many different sports as well as church involvement.

Why I am a Mormon

When I met my wife I was interested in her faith as a member of the LDS church. Through her example and the lessons I was taught by the missionaries my belief in the doctrines of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has grown and strengthened. My faith has grown where I now have a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. The blessings that have come into my life are too numerous to count especially my marriage for eternity to my best friend and the 5 children and 20 grandchildren that bring me such joy and happiness. Without the gospel in my life I don't know where I would be. The many life questions that I had have been answered through study and prayer and it has provided me with peace as to my purpose in this life and my journey into the eternities. I know I am a child of God and by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ I can live with my Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I have been very active in the Church over the past 45 years serving in many different church callings ranging from teacher to ward mission leader as well as counselor in both branch presidency and bishopric. I have also served as a high counselor in 2 different stakes. I have also been involved in community youth sports as a coach and official. I have been a home teacher for all 25 years of my church membership. I have taught both youth and adults in classes for religious training. I have also worked in 3 different temples as an ordinance worker which was and is a great blessing in my life. Ihave also worked inthe scouting program for boys 11 to 18.
