Hi I'm Emily

I'm a student, photographer, big sister, adventurer, daughter, Missionary in Raleigh, North Carolina, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I am a missionary in the Raleigh North Carolina mission. I love serving the Lord and love laughing(: I am from Utah and absolutely love my mountains there, these North Carolina trees are growing on me though(: I am incredibly blessed to have the greatest support group out there, three parents (a mom in heaven) and three of the best siblings. When I am not a missionary, I love to spend time with my friends, read everything I can and try new art things(: I absolutely love to take pictures of anything and everything. I plan to graduate from Brigham Young University with a degree in something...not quite sure of that one yet(: I am incredibly blessed by modern medicine, especially the technology that allows for the peace of mind through my defibrillator. I love knowing that whatever hard things come, I am more than what happens to me, I am a daughter of God. Knowing who I am and why I am here allow me to live a happy life, even during hard things. My favorite feelings in the world include, feeling the Spirit speak through me, knowing I am doing what God wants me too and rain. I am far from perfect, but trying to be a little better through the Atonement of Jesus Christ every day(:

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy. The Gospel of Jesus Christ allows for peace and direction. In my life, I have lost several family members and through the gospel, I know that I can live with them again and this changes my life and gives me hope and a goal. I am a Mormon because I believe the words found in the Book of Mormon, when I read these words, I find the strength I need to do the hard everyday things required of my everyday life. I am a Mormon because I enjoy the words and counsel from living prophets and apostles. I am a Mormon because I know my Savior, Jesus Christ lives. I know this and I know Him. I know He suffered for me in Gethsemane and on the cross so that I can be forgiven and feel peace and move on from mistakes I have made and I know that I will live again. I am a Mormon because it makes me a better person. This gospel makes me happier, it brings me peace, it teaches me to be kinder and it allows me opportunities to serve my brothers and sisters who are also my Heavenly Fathers children. I am a Mormon because I know that these things are true, and most importantly, I know my Heavenly Father loves and knows me.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday. I begin every morning with a prayer and end them the same way. I have served in my church by teaching the four year olds and I absolutely loved this. I also taught other students in my student ward during our sunday school hour. I serve by looking out for sisters in my ward with a partner and visiting them once a month with a message to uplift as well as just to strengthen friendships. I serve in the Temple and by doing family history work. I serve as a full time missionary in North Carolina. This involves extra study and prayer as well as leaving behind all worldly things like phones and friends and dedicate my life to teaching God's children how they can return to live with Him and be with their families forever. I live my faith by living in a way that shows Gods light and love to those around me.
