Hi I'm Manny

Hi, I grew up in Anaheim, California. I have 4 children, 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I retired as a U.S. diplomat after 23 years of service. I served as an LDS Mission President in Costa Rica, Central America. My wife and I also served as missionarie s in Belize Central America and as Directors of the Mexico City Temple Visitor's Center. On January 20th, 2014, my wife and I will enter the MTC and begin serving our 4th mission in the Utah Provo Mission assigned to the Salem West Stake as "Reactivation and Missionary Coordinators" for the Stake. We are the parents of 4 children, 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. We love serving the Lord and assisting in Hastening the Work, by seeking out those who have lost their way and bring them back into activity in their wards and branches.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because it helped me understand that God does exists, that He loves us and that indeed he gave His only begotten son, Jesus Christ to the world as a sacrificial lamb to be crucified for our sins. This great event makes it possible for each of us to repent of our own sins, and be spare the terrible suffering of our own sins through Jesus's atonement. The Church helped me understand how God's work is done on this earth, through God's Priesthood power and authority. I now have a sense of being, understanding where we came from, why we are here on earth and where we are going. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, has given me purpose in life, direction and understanding the need to serve others, to always help those in need and to be a good citizen and neighbor in our communities. My faith in Jesus Christ, my repentence of my sins, I qualified to be baptized by the proper priesthood authority and I received the Holy Ghost to guide me through my whole life. This has mad a difference in my perception of life, its purpose and the importance of serving one another. We are all God's children. We need to help one another to live according to His commandments and return to His presence after this life. The Church has helped me understand my purpose in life and that is to achieve Eternal Life and live once more in the presence of God and his beloved son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love to work with people of all faiths. We at times have organized block parties to get to know our neighbors. We have hosted empty nester events for those couples who no longer have children living at home. We participate in support of our government by keeping up with current events and voting for men and women of high moral character and integrity. My wife and I enjoy serving others, especially those with special problems. We like to share our testimonies of the divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. Although we no longer have children in our local schools, we nevertheless enjoy participating in school events, such as plays, musicals, sports events and other projects that support excellent educational promotions.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Manny
We do not worship Joseph Smith; We worship God and His Son Jesus Christ. However we honor and respect Joseph Smith as a prophet of God, called to assist in the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was instrumental in preparing mankind in these latter days to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ in it's fullness with all the doctrine as taught in the Book of Mormon. It was through Joseph Smith that that God and Jesus restored not only the gospel, but also God's priesthood to perform all the saving ordinances in this world to help us obtain our covenants that will lead us back to the presence of God and Jesus Christ.
