Hi I'm Jeff Wilson

I grew up in Idaho as a member of the church. I grew inactive. I changed and I am now serving a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a very big movie fan. I recently graduated from my high school and I'm about to serve a mission in Japan. I absolutely love music. I played the trombone in jazz band for two years and three years in marching band and symphonic band. I really think music betters people's lives. I love creating things. Any type of thing. I think creation is one of the most profound gifts we have on this Earth. I like the Boston Red Sox and watching their games and following their season.

Why I am a Mormon

I used to be really into technology and video games. That's all I used to do. Once I hit rock-bottom, I had nowhere to go and I thought my life was over at such a young age. Then Divine intervention hit my life hard and I knew I had to come back around. I destroyed my laptop with a sledge hammer and have never been happier since. I have decided to serve a mission and I have been preparing ever since I changed. I know with every fiber of my being that the church is true. I've found that in life, every situation should be approached reverently and with a prayerful spirit. Then if we can silence what we want, then we can do Gods will and he can personally "write upon our hearts".Then we can find that our will becomes his will. If you don't believe it's true or if you're not sure then go out and search. "Ask and ye shall receive. Knock and it will be opened unto you." That's a promise from God. The work of missionaries is moving forward and I'm moving forward with it. I say these things in the sacred name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

Before December 29th, I would wake up every day and read my scriptures. Not just because it's what I should do but because I have found SO much insight in the scriptures. I would go to church every Sunday and focus that day all on the Savior and what he's done for myself and my family. I hometeach two of the nicest families in the world. That basically means I go to their house every month and teach a lesson with my dad and see if their family is okay. It's not really a chore or anything because it's nice to do that kind of stuff for people and they are the sweetest families. I look forward to home teaching because of that. I said before December 29th because on that day in 2013, I officially became a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Which changed up my routine a little. This means that on January 1st, I report to the Missionary Training Center in Provo, UT to be trained and go into the field to teach the gospel. Some of the basic changes in my routine are I go to bed every night before 10:30, wake up at 6:30, study my scriptures for a set amount of time when I wake up and before I go to bed, and write in my journal. As of right now when I'm writing this, I have two days before I go to the MTC and I love being a missionary even though I haven't left yet.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Jeff Wilson
The Church does not endorse any party but encourages us to be active in politics. I'm a Mormon democrat and my dad is a Mormon republican. There are tons of different situations involving third party Mormons as well. The title of Mormon democrat or Mormon republican is also not suggesting that it is our own form of the party of anything. I'm only stating that we are Mormons in faith and whatever political party in politics. Show more Show less
