Hi I'm Lisa Shambrook

I'm an author, dreamer, mum and wife. I write, scrapbook, craft and photograph. I love dragons...and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and a mother, and I write. I spend much of my time split between raising my family, teaching within the church and writing. I write an eclectic mix of fiction, from very short flash fiction to full length novels. I'm an observer in life, a details person and I notice the little things...which makes me very grateful for the beauty the Lord surrounds us with.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith has been an important part of my life for many years. I draw inspiration and strength from my relationship with my Heavenly Father and my faith keeps me grounded. My parents joined the Mormon faith a few years after they married and I was born into the church. My father was a staunch Catholic and my mother's father was a Baptist preacher, so I have an interesting heritage. I questioned my faith in my late teens and my heart confirmed my belief, since then I strive to live my faith and be better and stronger each day. I am lucky to have married a wonderful man and I am so grateful to know that our love is eternal. The eternal nature of families is a huge blessing in my life. This gospel makes sense to me and answers the questions of my heart.

How I live my faith

I have always enjoyed teaching, and right now I teach Early Morning Seminary, to youth of 14 - 18 years of age. Seminary was a strong influence in my teens and I am privileged to have the chance to teach the scriptures to today's youth. I also teach Adult Sunday School, and this affords me the opportunity to strengthen my testimony in the scriptures, just as Seminary does. I have served in many church callings, including periods as Relief Society and Young Women Presidents, I have learned much and grown spiritually, and I look forward to more opportunities afforded me in the future!
