Hi I'm Nichole

I'm a writer, small business owner, devoted wife, mother and a Latter Day Saint.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for 9 1/2 years and we have four beautiful children. I am a creative person and love to write. I have written one novel so far (working on my second) and hope to someday become a published author. I have a Bachelors Degree in English. Almost four years ago I started my own soap making business where I create functional beauty through the designs of my soap. I grew up in the mountains in a small community. I love to hike and have climbed to the top of Mt. Whitney (the long way, not through Whitney Portal). I love to learn new things and am an amateur photographer. I joined the church when I was eighteen and fresh out of high school.

Why I am a Mormon

Peace. Love. Purpose. These are a few of the reasons I joined the church. My life before joining the church was so drastically different from the life I now have that it's sometimes difficult for me to remember back to the days before I was baptized. I can say with no hesitation that the gospel of Jesus Christ literally saved my life. I was a good person before, but that was just me going through life, trying to be the best I could without really knowing what I was supposed to do. I didn't really know that I was a daughter of God and that I was loved. I didn't understand what Jesus Christ had done for me. All I did know was that something was missing in my life. I discovered what that missing thing was when I began to go to church activities with my friends. My whole senior year of high school, I faithfully went to seminary one day a week (all the I was allowed by my parents) where I learned about and studied the Book of Mormon. Reading the Book of Mormon was a life changing experience and the more I read and learned, the more I realized that the truths of the Gospel were familiar to me. I already knew that it was true. I also found that peace that was missing from my life. I clung to this light that I had found. At times it was the only thing that kept me going in what was a very difficult time in my life. I wanted to be baptized but I knew my family wouldn't approve so I waited. I joined the church shortly after graduating from high school (against my family's wishes) and even with the difficulties that arose from that, I can say that it was the best decision I ever made. I continue to be a faithful member of the church because of the miracles I have seen in my own life, for the love from my Heavenly Father I have felt and because of the peace and joy that can only be found through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know this church is true. I love my savior Jesus Christ and that through following him, we may be saved.

How I live my faith

At the moment, I am a leader in the Young Women's (12-18 years old) organization in my local ward/church unit. I love working with these beautiful young women and I think I've learned more from them then they have taught me. I love the opportunity this service gives me to teach the young women more about the Savior. I have felt my testimony of Jesus Christ grow as I follow his example and try to serve others as He would have me serve.
