Hi I'm Derek Day

I'm a Texan, a skier, and a sportsaholic. I served a mission in Argentina and am a pre-med student at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A born Texan, I also spent a lot of time growing up in Maine, where I developed my love of skiing. I graduated from high school in 2009 and the following year began a two year mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I learned to love the Argentine culture as a developed life-long friendships and worked to help people come to know Christ. I'm currently studying neuroscience and Brigham Young University and plan to attend medical school afterwards. I want to make a difference for good in the lives of individuals and families.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I've come to know for myself that the message taught by this church is true. I know it not by any grand vision or sign, but through time in prayer and thought. I've felt in my heart a comforting peace and joy and an assurity in my mind that I know can come only from God. The gospel of Jesus Christ is what gives me purpose, direction, and happiness. What else really matters?

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith daily by communicating with my Heavenly Father in prayer and scripture study and by working to follow impressions from Him. I attend church weekly with the young single adults who live near me and I coordinate the teaching in church classes. I visit and am visited regularly by other church members near me so we can lift each other up and build frienships.
