Hi I'm Zakk

I am a convert to the church; I am going to serve a full-time mission in the Poland, Warsaw mission; and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was baptized into the church in August of 2012. The next big step in my life is a full-time mission. I am called to serve in the Poland Warsaw Mission, and I couldn't be more happy. I enjoy music (both playing and writing), and I went to school for acting. I graduated with my Associate's Degree recently and will continue my education after my time on the mission field is completed.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it teaches exactly what kind of man I want to be. Before I joined the church, I knew I wasn't living the way I wanted. I knew I wasn't on the right path. When I found out more about the church, I was surprised that it was a lot of what I believed already. The more lessons I took, the more I saw that this is exactly what I was looking for. I have such a passion for the church now – one that has grown so much since my baptism. I am a Mormon because I love my Heavenly Father. I know that this is His church. I am a child of God, and this is the straight and narrow path to make it back to Him. I know that the Atoning sacrifice made by Christ give everyone the opportunity to repent and have their transgressions forgiven. I am a Mormon because it is the only way for me to attain true happiness. For any of you that have questions, ask. This church is one of action. You are the only one that can find out the truth of this church. You must pray, ponder, repent, and be baptized by someone holding the priesthood authority of God. That is the only way, and I know it. In the April 2013 General Conference, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland stated, "what we know will always trump what we do not know," and what I know is that this church is true. I know that without a shred of a doubt. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

When I was an investigator, I found myself getting lost on Mormon.org. Although I was somewhat familiar with the LDS faith already, I was hungry for more. To me, it felt like I had found something that had been missing for my whole life, and now I had to catch up. Since becoming a member, I have made it my goal to study my scriptures regularly. I have also started reading several church books so that I could further expand my knowledge. I love attending devotionals and re-watching past devotionals on lds.org. I have received several callings since my baptism into the church, the most recent of which is 1st counselor in the Sunday School Presidency in my local Young Single Adult ward. I am continuously working to improve myself. I know that there is always more that I can do, and I am grateful for the great examples of members I have in my life.
