Hi I'm Carly

I am a wife and mother of two boys. I love all things mountain related. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in suburbs of Seattle. I love snowshoeing, traveling, sushi and coconut cupcakes. I have a B.A. in Communications/Public Relations and managed events for a software company before starting my young family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born and raised in the LDS church, I've had a number of experiences and opportunities to gain a testimony for myself. Throughout much of junior high and high school I was one of only a few members of the church. I definitely felt different from the rest of my peers. Early on I had to decide for myself if being Mormon was really worth it. I studied the Book of Mormon and prayed a lot. I attended church every Sunday and went to a scripture study class each day before school started. I was eager to know the truth for myself. As I did these things, I could feel God's love for me. I sensed that He knew me personally and that what I was doing was the right thing. I felt His Spirit guiding me along and helping me to recognize right from wrong. It was clear to me that doing what God wants us to do brings us peace and happiness that we can't find anywhere else.

How I live my faith

Today I help a young group of girls ages 8-12 years old learn more about themselves and what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. We do different activities twice a month that range from community service projects to craft and cooking lessons, as well as some outdoor adventures like hiking and picnics up the canyons. They are so fun, talented, full of energy and eager to love everyone. I love the time I get to spend with them.
