Hi I'm Karli

I'm a singer, I'm a performer; I have been called to serve in the China Hong Kong Mission; and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Karli and I have just completed my first semester of college at BYU! I'm now taking a 2 year break to serve a mission for 18 months for our Heavenly Father and His children in Hong Kong. I leave on April 16, 2014. I love to sing--especially big band/jazz music from the 1940's swing era. I'm in a professional singing group called The Honeybee Trio in California and we sing "Andrews Sisters" and "Glenn Miller" style internationally. The other two girls in my group aren't Mormon--they are atheist--but we are still inseparable and answer each other's questions about our faiths. We have been together for 5 years now and it's such a blessing. I'm a vegan (although I also eat fish) because I like to treat my body like a temple by keeping it clean and healthy. I also love to swim, bike, and run; as well as spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have faith in Jesus Christ. He has sacrificed His life for me, for you, for everyone who lives and has ever lived upon this Earth. I know that because of Him, I am never alone. He has suffered for every feeling of loneliness, depression, hatred, abandonment, and guilt I've ever felt...so I wouldn't have to pay for those alone. I love Him and cannot wait to devote 18 months of my life to Him! I can't wait to serve the people in Hong Kong and teach them of what makes me truly happy: this gospel. I'm a Mormon because my faith in Christ helps me want to be a better person and serve others. No amount of money makes a person more happy than charity! I'm grateful I can be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by spending time with my family. Since I don't leave for my mission until April, I could attend another semester of school at BYU. However, I really wanted to spend some time before I leave for 18 months growing closer with my brother, helping my sister, and spending time with my parents, so I took this semester off. They are so important to me! Everything about this gospel is centered around families being together forever! I also live my faith by studying the scriptures. They bring me so much closer to our Savior and help me want to be more like Him every day. The more I read the scriptures, the more I want to give and serve others. It's wonderful.
