Hi I'm Cindy

I was born in Utah my parents are from Mexico. I love music, writing, reading, dancing and helping. I am a Mormon :).

About Me

I love music and dancing! I was a part of a multicultural group called Remembering Our Culture. I love learning about other cultures and trying to dance something that is so close to their hearts. I love learning how to dance and making mistakes because it just makes everything funner! What impacts me the most about dancing is knowing that there are other people that love cultural dances and hear the music with their hearts. I also love writing and getting lost in another world where I know I can explain myself on paper rather than to others. I enjoy getting lost in reading and seeing how one story can be explained in different ways. Last but not least I love helping others and knowing that I don't have to be a superhero to go and lift someone else's burdens.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I never really understood what being a Mormon or LDS was. I came from a family of all Catholics, my grandma's parents were Catholics, making my grandma Catholic and my mom as well. In Washington, we didn't see a lot of Mormon's, but somehow my mom got to know about the church. She got baptized and then divorced we moved with my grandparents to Utah and she became inactive. I got baptized when I was 13, the year after I became inactive because my testimony wasn't strong enough and I just thought I was in it alone. I was deeply mistaken about being alone, but I feel that I needed to go through that period of finding the WHY I needed my Savior, Jesus Christ. I returned to the church in 2011 because of many people who felt that should invite me to go to church and activities. One day I went and I just felt an immense peace wash over me and I felt as if someone was holding me and telling me everything would be okay. Ever since that day I still go to church alone but I know it is where I need to be. I love being a member of the church because through the church I have found PEACE, HAPPINESS, and LOVE. There are still so many things I don't understand and I am still learning, but that is what keeps me here. I love helping others and simply helping them find themselves through Christ, His love and His forgiveness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly learning more about the Gospel and applying what I learn. I love helping others and applying the Christlike attributes that I learn each day. Sometimes it is hard but I love learning and I love knowing that I will not be perfect, and that I can continue to strive to be better each day. I served a full-time mission, and it has been amazing! Previously being part of my multicultural group, has also helped me come more out of my shell and comfort zone. Through the group I have met other people that have helped me be more confident in myself and my culture. I have a very happy and exciting personality so when the tides get rough.. I like to fake it through until I make it :).
