Hi I'm John D. Conrad

Baptized as 14 year old in Arizona, P.T. grad school in New Jersey, home health physical therapist in North Carolina.

About Me

I was raised by my loving grandparents in Arizona & am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served my mission in the Quetzaltenango, Guatemala from '84 to '86. Married in '88 and have 2 wonderful children. I received a B.S. degree from Arizona State University & a Masters in Physical Therapy degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey. I currently practice home health P.T. in North Carolina. I enjoy outdoor activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I would have to say that my baptism into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was only the beginning of my conversion. Each phase of my life has provided experiences that have challenged my dedication to and understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a youth, saying "I'm a Mormon" allowed me to excuse myself from some of the activities in which I did not wish to participate. Serving a mission taught me that I needed to have a deeper testimony of my Savior, Jesus Christ, and the implications of his atoning sacrifice in my life. Getting married and having children has enhanced my conversion as I have gained a greater understanding to the importance of living the gospel, being a good example to my family and focusing my life on service to others while still participating in my work and recreational activities.

How I live my faith

I have served in the LDS church in many calling but I have found that I am frequently used as a teacher and mentor to the youth. I enjoy being close to my children, knowing their friends, teaching them and providing service with them whenever the opportunities arise.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

John D. Conrad
I know that I have received answers to my prayers when I am ready the Book of Mormon, the Bible or other scriptures. In those quiet moments of reflection or contemplation, a specific scripture will impress on me the answer to a question of which I have been praying to my Father in Heaven for an guidance. Sometimes it is very subtle and sometimes more direct. I am so grateful for the scriptures, specifically the Book of Mormon, for the greater understanding that I have gained regarding my Savior and the commandments that allow me live my life in accordance with our Heavenly Father's plan so that I may return to live with Him at the completion of my time on earth.
