Hi I'm Mariah Nimmer

I am from Orem, Utah and I love to run. I ran XC in high school and recently completed my first marathon. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Sports have always been a big part of my life. I grew up playing soccer, basketball, and softball. By the end of junior high I dropped softball and started to place all of my focus on soccer. In high school I was introduced to the sport of cross-country. Still keeping soccer as my focus I started to run a lot on the side for fun and for training. However, by my senior year I found that my love for running was greater than my love of soccer. So, I switched all of my focus towards my passion for running. I have continued to run for fun after high school and completed my first marathon in October. I loved it. I just finished my first semester of college at BYU and really enjoyed the experience. However, I am taking a break from school to go on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I will be serving in the Santa Rosa Spanish speaking California mission. I am so excited to share my testimony of this gospel to the people of California.

Why I am a Mormon

I was very blessed to be born into this gospel with a father and mother who taught me from a young age about this gospel. At a young age I decided I wanted to know for myself if this church was true. I had heard all the stories of people praying about whether The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and receiving miraculous experiences. So, I prayed, read my scriptures, and prayed again. I was confused why I wasn't receiving some grand experience to show my this gospel was true. However, as I kept up my scripture studying and praying I came to a realization that I knew this church was true and had been restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know Christ directs this church and I am grateful for my testimony which has helped me through the trials of life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow Christ's example as I live my life. I try to take what I learn from my daily scripture study and the lessons at church every sunday and apply it to how I live my life. I start every day with a prayer to my Heavenly Father for strength during the day to overcome temptations and for the guidance of the holy ghost. I also pray whenever I need help throughout the day. Before I go to bed each night I like to pray and thank my Heavenly Father for all he has done for me.
