Hi I'm Janette

I've spent all my life in Southern Alberta. I enjoy spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The majority of my time is spent either outside or with family. I'm the youngest of 4 children; there are 2 boys and 2 girls. I love music; either listening to, singing, or playing the piano. I enjoy spending my time outdoors, doing adrenaline rush activities, mowing the lawn (on a ride-on), boating, and dancing! I love meeting new people, and getting to know more about others.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but we are taught that we cannot rely on our parents and their testimonies; we need to gain our own knowledge of the truthfulness that is found in the restored gospel. I am a Mormon, because I have found out for myself that "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" is true, and that it contains the full and everlasting gospel. Over the years, I have found myself to just be going with the flow, and doing things merely because that was what everyone else did and that's what I was taught do. Not until recently, things really 'clicked' in my mind. There has been many trials that my immediate and extended family has been faced with, and after all of this I just was completely lost. I didn't know what was true anymore; I had seen and heard too much. I was confused. Recently, my parents, sister and I, had the privilege to convoy with a few relatives to Nauvoo. This is where my vision was made clear, and I finally understood everything that I needed to. I know that our Saviour, Jesus Christ, endured so much hardship for our well being. I know that it is only by and through Him, that we may be saved. I know that the atonement is real, and that through it, we can be made clean from the mistakes which we have made. I know that He is the greatest exemplar of how we should be living our lives. I know that The Book of Mormon was translated through Joseph Smith, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was also restored through him. I know that Joseph Smith was the first prophet in this the restored gospel, I know that he sacrificed his life, to ensure that the Church would expand to "all ends of the earth" and that all would hear of it's truthfulness. I know that we have a Prophet on our earth today, and that is Thomas S. Monson. I know that he receives direct revelation from our Father in Heaven, to share with us. Hear him. I hope to one day stand at the judgement seat, and be told "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

How I live my faith

I live my faith, by constantly trying to be different, and not giving into worldy temptations. I am always trying to keep the commandments, and heed the counsel that our Prophet and leaders teach us. Satan is trying very hard to pull us off the path, that leads to our Heavenly Father, and he's doing that by making a worldly lifestyle more appealing then the contrary. I do everything I can to keep my blinders on, and not be distracted by "the world". In the church, we are taught to "be in the world but not of the world".
