Hi I'm Katie Andrade

I grew up in California. I currently attend BYU-Idaho where I'm majoring in Special Education (K-12). I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a student at Brigham Young University- Idaho majoring in Special Education. I have worked with special needs children and adults since I was in fifth grade and have loved every minute of it. While I am home (in California) I enjoy going to the beach, swimming, writing poetry, bowling and much more. I love to be active and have fun at the same time, my favorite sport is Ultimate Frisbee. Another activity I enjoy is being in nature, whether it be on the beach or in the mountains, I love being surrounded by God's beautiful creations!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to have parents who raised me in a Christ-centered home. I love this gospel and know it to be true. It has seen me through a lot of difficult times and has caused me to be a better, stronger Young Woman. I love the temple and attend twice a week. I love learning and as I read the scriptures daily I find something new to study out. I have a strong testimony of the atonement and the healing power the comes through it. I know that through the atonement of Christ if I am experiencing any affliction, heartache, or sorrow from sin I can turn to my Savior for comfort and forgiveness.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is more than just a Sunday event. I live my faith daily through prayer, scripture study, and service. I love to serve those around me and lift those whose spirits may be low. I have served in many ways within the church in callings such as chorister, secretary, and teacher. I have recently decided to serve as a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as another way to serve and live my faith. I will be serving in the Mexico Cancun Mission beginning in May 2014!
