Hi I'm Anna

I grew up in Missouri. I'm the 3rd child of 6. I love music. I'm currently a full-time missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up in a large family, I've gained a love for my family. I love to play and listen to music. My main hobbies have to be listening to music, watching movies, and having fun with friends. My favorite video games are all Legend of Zelda. My escape from this world comes from reading the scriptures and finding ways to give a compliment a day. My favorite thing to cook is desserts, my favorite thing to eat is American-Italian and American-Chinese food. I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

The teachings in the Mormon church makes sense. Every time I read the Bible, it fills me with hope and love, but I always felt like it wasn't enough. Jesus said that he was going to visit the other sheep of his fold (John 10:16), and I always wondered as to what other sheep he was talking about. The Book of Mormon are records of people that originated from Jerusalem and settled in the Americas. Every time I read the Book of Mormon, I am filled with the same feelings as when I read the Bible. And I knew that I would not get closer to God than by any other book. The Book of Mormon does NOT replace the Bible, it is truly "Another Testament of Jesus Christ." The standards and counsel given by the prophets are really meant to help us in our days. Some people say that the standards are too restricting; they're not. I love having the standards, it gives me purpose. It's NOT a cult thing to where we follow the leader even when we don't know the reasons why. The prophets and leaders of our church tell us to give the counsel a try. Live it, and pray about it. If the counsel is not true and it doesn't come from God, then you don't have to follow it. But I can tell you this, it IS true. I am a Mormon, I know it, I live it, I love it!

How I live my faith

I am now a full-time missionary serving for 18 months. I read my scriptures once a day, whether they be in chronological order or not. I love to learn about the history of the Saints and the family history of some of the people around me. My contribution to family history is indexing. I am always looking for clean humor and I try to pass it on. I love to find clean popular songs, and to make a point that I am not downloading anything else onto my phone. I try my best to keep the 10 Commandments and to follow the standards and counsel of the prophets.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

How can we come to know anybody? We all know that you can't just know who somebody is by looking at their picture. You have to actually talk to them. How do you talk to our Father in Heaven? You pray. The prayer doesn't have to be recited passages from the scripture. You just talk. He is up there listening. You learn a lot about somebody by their works and how they impacted people's lives. The scriptures are all about God and Jesus Christ. All throughout the scriptures, there are tales of conversions and praising God is something that almost all the prophets do. When you read their praising, they're always thanking God for what blessings they have. If you follow these steps that I have listed above (praying and reading the scriptures), you now know that God is kind of a big deal. You know of him. You might know him if you have prayed diligently. To love somebody, you also have to learn to trust them. How to do come to trust somebody? You do what they say; you listen to them. If they enrich your life and make you a better person, you come to find they're a trustworthy person. You learn to love people that are good to you. God is good. Show your love to God by keeping His commandments. Show more Show less
