Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a student, an oldest brother, and a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports, and I played baseball throughout High School. I love playing the piano. I'm studying mechanical engineering in college. I love watching movies and doing hanging out with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe the Book of Mormon to be true. It contains the truthfulness of the doctrine of Christ, and encourages me to strive to be like Christ. I feel happy when I keep God's commandments, and when I uphold the standards of my church. I am happy to know that Christ atoned for everyone's sins so I can be forgiven of my sins through sincere repentance. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet who translated the Book of Mormon, and I sustain President Thomas S. Monson as the prophet of the Mormon church today. I love studying the scriptures(Book of Mormon and the Bible), and I feel the Holy Ghost when I do so. I believe my church to be true of those reasons, and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the way I act and by the things I do. I strive to read my scriptures and say my prayers every day. I go to church each week to increase my knowledge and testimony about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I fulfill my church callings, serve others, and keep the commandments of God. I believe that when I live my faith, I will be able to draw closer to God, and my testimony of Him and His plan for me will be strengthened.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Mormons are expected to pay tithing to the church because it is a commandment of the Lord. In Malachi 3:8-10, it talks about how members of God's church are expected to pay a tithe, and if they do, then they will be blessed. In our church, we are expected to pay 10% of our personal income in order to finance the work of the Lord such as helping missionaries pay for their missions, building church buildings, and building temples.
