Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a typical teenager from the state of Maryland. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a high school student. I love swimming and reading. I like watching movies, and listening to music. I like the French language, but can't speak it even though I've taken a few classes in school. I'm working hard so that I can go to college in a few years too.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, my parents are Mormon, so I am Mormon too. I have a lot of friends who have been born into the church as well. I have had a limited experience with other religions, through friends and school, but I know that this church is the true church. I love being Mormon, because even though we have a lot of standards to follow, they keep me out of trouble, and away from things that would limit my agency. I love being able to choose for myself what I want to do, or where I want to go in my life. The church makes these choices possible with the standards and the organization that it has. I have a close relationship with my Heavenly Father and that relationship brings me great joy. I share the joy that the gospel has brought me.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday, and attend Seminary, a bible study class, every morning before school at 6am! I go to youth night during the week, to spend time with other youth in my church and participate in uplifting activities.

What is being a Mormon like?

Amanda
Being a member of the Mormon church has given my life direction and purpose. I know who I am and what I'm supposed to do. It can be hard sometimes, especially because there are not very many Mormons where I live so my friends tend to think I'm weird sometimes, but it's worth it. I am happy knowing that I am in the place God wants me to be. I am learning and growing a little at a time as I keep studying the principles taught in church and becoming more of the person I want to be. Show more Show less
