Hi I'm Emilee Ratto

I am from Provo, Utah. I love all the orphans in the whole world. I can't go a day without laughing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, fresh out of high school. I am majoring in marriage and family studies so that I can become a marriage and family counselor. I love talking to people about their lives and relationships. Some of my friends call me their "therapist" because they feel like they can talk to me about anything. I also love to laugh. I can't imagine going through the day without laughing at something. I love reading the Book of Mormon and the New Testament. I have been called to serve in the Oklahoma Tulsa mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the Church, my conversion was still entirely my own, not forced by my family. At a young age I remember feeling distraught or lost if I wasn't reading the scriptures everyday and praying every morning and night. When I did those things, I felt aligned with God. Even going to Church every week was something out of personal necessity. Before I turned twelve, I was fearfully worried about not doing what I was supposed to be doing. I just wanted to be good. Because of my desires and my obedience, I noticed how amazing my life unfolded before me. I went through some hard family trials in high school but because of the knowledge of the gospel and the Savior's infinite atonement, I was able to experience so much joy and relief. I was able to let go of my anger, guilt, grief and pride and surrender it all to God. I invariably changed my perspective on life, family and myself. I saw the world through eyes of love instead of cynicism. I learned so much about myself and God by delving into my past and letting go of anything that was not from a source of love. I wouldn't trade my knowledge of the gospel for anything. This is my testimony that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. His love is infinite and His hand is always stretched out to all. I believe that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore the gospel in its fullness. I believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God along with the Bible. I also believe that President Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet today.

How I live my faith

One of my callings in my ward is to be a greeter; I welcome everyone at the door. I try to emulate Christ by making people feel accepted and loved. I love watching their eyes light up when I talk to them. It may seem simple but it helps to create the atmosphere of the Savior. I also try to seek out those that look a little low to uplift them. I authentically want to help people.
