Hi I'm Jason Mark Arave

My name is Jason Arave. I'm originally from a smaller, residential town in the Ogden area known as Harrisville, Utah.

About Me

I'm an individual who loves to stay physically active. I love running, playing soccer and softball, hiking, swimming, crossfit, resistance and cardio training, fast dancing, and attending Utah State University Basketball Games. I have a passion for Nutrition, Dietetics, and Exercise Science. I love theme parks and favorite one is Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia. California, which is actually located in my mission. :) Unfortunately, I've had to take some time off from attending school at Utah State University, but plan to return in the fall of 2014 to finish my degree in Exercise Science, which is close to being completed. I enjoy spending time with my extended family on both sides. I'm an uncle to 2 wonderful kids, whom I love dearly. I grew up in a small Mormon family of only two kids. I'm the oldest and my younger sister is 3 years younger than me. My nephew Bridger is 3 years old and my niece Brailynn is a year old. I served a full-time English speaking mission from November 6, 2002 thru November 10, 2004 in the Northern area of Los Angeles, California known as the San Fernando Valley. I loved my mission so much and to this day I still think about it almost every day. I came to know and love many people from it. Serving a mission was the best choice that I ever made and there are times that I wish I could go back to being a missionary again. I'm not a fan of the dry, cold climate here in Utah, so my plan is to move in the future to Los Angeles, CA.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Latter-day because I know and feel it's the closest religious organization to Christ's church, which he set it up in his mortal life. I'm a Latter-day Saint because I know in my heart, mind, and soul that it's the true gospel of Jesus Christ. It's my ticket and way of salvation back to God and Jesus Christ after my time here in mortality. Joseph Smith Junior in fact saw God the Father and his son, Jesus Christ and was the instrument to restore the gospel and original church of Jesus Christ, which was taken away from this world when Christ and his apostles were killed. I've had a very hard and trialsome life and the only way reason that I've kept going all these years is because of my religion and how much it means to me. I find joy and peace attending church every Sunday in the Logan YSA 44th Ward. A lot of the people in my ward are such great examples and a strength to me. I honestly don't know what I would do without them. I've been fortunate to have wonderful bishoprics throughout my life in my former home ward-Harrisville 3rd Ward, in my two former young single adult wards-North Ogden YSA 25th Ward and Logan YSA 43rd Ward, and now in the 44th Ward. Our Father in Heaven truly loves us and we find peace through the Holy Spirit when we live a life in harmony to the teachings and example that Christ has set for us.

How I live my faith

I live my religion by attending church every Sunday and by finding ways to serve my fellowmen on a daily basis. Also, I've always fulfilled and magnified my callings in the church. I have the great opportunity to serve in the Logan, Utah YSA 6th Stake as the Sunday School Secretary. It's been a good calling and get to serve with 3 great guys-Thad Gillespie, Jacob McGarry, and Gary Bronson. The 4 of oversee the 8 different wards in our stake by making sure accurate doctrine and truth are being taught in each Sunday School Class. We also organize a meeting every other month with every Sunday School Presidency in each of the 8 wards to make sure the Sunday School Curriculum and Organization is meeting the standards of our Stake Presidency as well as church guidelines.
