Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in Utah. I'm a husband and father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up Mormon, but wasn't independent in my faith until college. I attended college on a basketball scholarship. I am a pharmaceutical sales rep now. My proudest role is as a father of two and a husband to my beautiful wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and always believed it was right based on my parents and others faith. It wasn't until college (and moving away from Utah) that I was confronted with the possibility that it wasn't right. I read the Book of Mormon in full and spent a lot of time praying about what was true and what path I should take. I didn't feel like I could leave my college basketball career behind and serve a mission for two years if I wasn't even sure it was right. As I read and prayed about the Book of Mormon (over the span of about 3 months) and the church I felt confirmation from God that it was right. That the Book of Mormon was truly from God. That Joseph Smith was a real prophet--just as Moses and Isaiah and others--called of God to lead His children. It changed everything about my life--my priorities, my vision, my purpose, the peace I felt, and I could go on and on and on. I was fortunate enough to serve a mission. When I returned, I finished my final three years of school and basketball. I have now been out of college for 6 years, married almost for 7 years and have children that are 4 and 2. My life revolves around my family and my faith. I have never forgotten the great gift from Heavenly Father that was the answer to those many prayers as I was a struggling freshman in college just trying to know what the truth was.

How I live my faith

I do my best to do little things daily to serve others. I try to be friendly to everyone I meet. I visit other families in my congregation at least monthly. I participate at church and try to share with others the things I have learned. I try to teach my children to be kind to and patient with others. We TRY to follow the example of Jesus Christ.
