Hi I'm Ty Christiansen

I am the only boy of 5 siblings. I love the outside world. California raised and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm one who does not like to be inside very often. If there is a chance to go play a sport, or go outside and do some other form of physical activity I take it. I often go hiking and camping. I learned to love doing these things because of boy scouts. I've learned so many skills and life lessons along the way. I would recommend being a boy scout to anyone. You're never too old or to "cool" to join scouting. I was born and raised in a small town outside of Fresno Ca. There I have a mom and a dad. Along with them I have 4 other sisters, two of which are married. Being the only boy in my family my sisters consider er me "spoiled". My dad works as a registered nurse and my mother is a school teacher. I am currently serving a two year mission for my church. I am serving in the Washington Federal Way mission. I have not been serving long but at this point in my mission I already know it will be one of the best moments in my life. After my mission I am going to attend college and become a surgeon. I do not know exactly what I would like to specialize in, but time will tell.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always grown up as a Mormon. However I did not always want to be one. There was a time in my life where I did not know if this church was "for me". Later I had to convert and not rely on what my parents taught me growing up. If you are struggling to know if this church is for you then you need to PRAY. Prayer is the most important thing we have in life. Without it we would now know the truth. I would encourage and invite everyone to pray and ask for truth. I know that if you ask with a sincere heart, having real intent, and having Faith in the Lord he will manifest the truth unto you. I love this church. I love joy and happiness i receive when going to church and being able to learn. I love being able to learn on my own with the teachings from the Bible AND Book of Mormon. I know there is a God and he does LOVE us so very much. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Prior to my mission I did not have an official calling. However, I did for 3 months teach the young men in my class. I do love going to church. At a younger age I never looked forward to it. However, as I have gotten older and matured more I love attending and being able to learn something new each time I go. I know church may not always be the most exiting thing to attend. But, going you are able to learn and grow as long as you pay attention and really have a desire to learn and grow.
