Hi I'm Julene

Moved from S. CA. with my family at 10, to CO. Spgs. Lived in UT, MT, & UK. Married 30 yrs, a nurse, 2 adult children.

About Me

I have been married for thirty years, we have two adult children that are married. We became grandparents in 2012 to two beautiful grandchildren. Our daughter blessed us with our grandson in April, then our daughter-in-law blessed us with our granddaughter in October. I graduated from nursing school in 1997 from the University of MT-COT and have been working as a (LPN) nurse. In 2012, I enrolled to continue my education and receive my bachelors degree in psychology. After completing my last semester in April 2014, my goal is to work in Human Resource. My hobbies are sewing, reading mystery books, watching movies, cooking, baking, hosting parties, decorating our home, service, learning new skills and exercising. I love cats. Our family cannot have a cat, due to my husband's allergies. We had a dog instead. We just lost our 15 year old Brittany Spaniel November 2013, we had her since she was 18 months old. She was usually wherever I was in the house, especially after our children moved out. I am thankful she is not suffering anymore, but I miss her big beautiful brown eyes.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon is because of my testimony of the gospel. I acknowledged my testimony of the gospel when I was six years old. I remember the experience like it happened yesterday (I am 50). Our family started going to church when I was six years old. This particular Sunday was fast and testimony meeting. People were bearing their testimony and I asked my mom if I could. My mom gave me some suggestions on what I could say, I do not remember what they were. Once I stood to express my testimony this overwhelming feeling came over me. I started crying, words and feelings came out of me that I know were true. This expereince was a personal revelation by the Holy Ghost that the gospel is true. The burning sensation that I had then has helped me to know of the truthfulness of the gospel as I matured. I have been able to bear my testimony to others because of the Holy Ghost bearing witness through me to Heavenly Fathers children. This experience has helped me to stay strong and build my testimony in the gospel when close family members have decided to fall away from the teachings of the gospel. I try to remember the unconditional love of our Savior that he has for everyone. His example helps me provide unconditional love and forgiveness to everyone and not seek revenge for any pain and suffereing they may have caused.

How I live my faith

My faith is who I am and how I respond to some circumstances that occur in my life. I serve friends and coworkers by offereing my time and support. I rely on my Heaveny Father for guidance to help me communicate and assist with their needs. My husband is a Bishop at a BYU ward and this requirers that I attend and serve as well. My calling is to provide support to the females students that have leadership calling in the ward. These callings help the ward function by teaching, serving, and giving compassion to ward members. This helps the females students serve each other and communicate to the priesthood leaders when their services maybe needed. Priesthood leaders are how the church is organized to function properly with an eternal role. Men are involved when they are asked to serve or give a blessing to someone. They cannot give their priesthood power to themselves, it can only be provided to others. The church serves it members by assigning home teachers (males) and visiting teachers (females). These visits occur monthly with visits that are meant to be short and buid a loving and trusting friendship. The positive relationships are meant to help members not feel lonely, by having someone they can turn to for guidance and support during a diffiucult time.

What is the Relief Society?

Julene
Relief Society is the oldest running women's society created by God. It was developed by Emma Smith out of inspiration for women to serve women and their families. I am thankful for being a member of Relief Society, no matter where I live in the world. It is the same to bless women and their families by inspiration and love from our Father in Heaven.
