Hi I'm Elder Chris Wilkinson

I am an artist in Utah. I am a geek. I am a great fan of the renaissance crafts. I am currently serving a mission in Tokyo Japan.

About Me

I am a complete Geek. I read comics, watch cartoons, and play video games for hours on end. I debate with friends(and strangers) about which hero is better, who is better than who, and how well a director did on what movie. I love to draw. I love to paint, photograph, sculpt, and work with metal. The gifts I have received to do such things and well is a gift that I will treasure for ever. I love being able to create something from the most humble of materials. A simple chunk of stone into a statue, a dirty stump into a vase, I love to make. I love the art of sword fighting. I enjoy the physical strain and the challenge of whirling a 4-5 pound blade with control and precision. And the rush of excitement I feel when I am faced against an opponent. Plus I have all the more respect for the creating of such a weapon. The time and care a professional takes to craft both the defense and offense of a warrior. I am an artist. I am a warrior. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the gospel I did not at times fully understand it, nor even like it. But as I grew older and experienced life, I found that the doctrines and commandments set by the leaders of the church are not to harm us but to help us return to a Father that loves us beyond time and existence. I feel that my Heavenly Father knows and loves me personally and that he watches me day by day, and shows me how I can better myself every hour.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time volunteer mission for my church in Japan. I wake up, pray(thanking my Heavenly Father for my blessings, and asking him to guide and help me throughout the day) then I prepare myself for the day. At 8:00am I am studying the gospel, learning and discovering new things. At 10:00am, I am studying the Japanese language so that I can talk to and teach the people in Japan about the restored gospel. With two hours set aside for meal times, I spend the rest of the day until 9:00pm going and teaching(praying for strength as I go!) I know that what I am doing here is important, and that's am where The Lord wants me to be. I am thankful to be able to share the blessings in my life with others, and to be able to show them how they can receive the same for themselves. I know my time here will bless me through my life, and I'm thankful for this experience.
