Hi I'm Kara Maxwell

I grew up on a dairy farm, I'm a convert to the church, I'm a daughter of my Heavenly Father, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the church who was raised in a Protestant home with morals and standards similar to the church. I have a deep love for my family and relish in the time we spend together. I believe that relationships with other people are the greatest joy in life and I strive to live every day to make others as happy as I feel. Each day is an opportunity to make another's day better. My knowledge of the restored Gospel and the Plan of Salvation gives me amazing perspective and hope.

Why I am a Mormon

I don’t know why I deserve to have a knowledge of this Gospel. By my calculations, I don't deserve it. Why was I chosen, out of the billions of people in this world, to receive the knowledge of this restored Gospel? Unfathomable is my gratitude for the trust and priceless gifts that Heavenly Father has decided to bestow upon me. And it is for that reason that I have an unceasing fervor to share this Gospel with others. I know the gifts and knowledge and light that come from this Gospel have the power to make us eternally happy: to partake of the fullness of happiness that Heavenly Father has the ability to bestow upon us. It gives my life purpose, direction, and love. How then, could I possibly sit still when I have a knowledge of this restored Gospel?

How I live my faith

Heavenly Father, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and church for me is not something I want to think about once a week, twice a week, or even three times a week. I want it to permeate every part of my life so that I am constantly refining myself to be more like the Savior. It is a tall task indeed to spread love and light to others continually while trying to follow the Lord's commandments and keep His covenants. But I know the Lord asks it of me because not only is it possible, but it is the most fulfilling way to live. The Lord has endless amounts of revelation and blessings to give us; it is us that holds us back from receiving them all. So, it is my goal every day to not only bring myself closer to partaking of all of those blessings, but also to help others to taste of those blessings as well.
