Hi I'm John

I grew up in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a caring family, where I learned the importance of principles like hard work and honesty. As a student I discovered my interest in many subjects, including math and music. I loved hiking and camping in the mountains surrounding our region. I worked a variety of summer jobs, saving money for a full-time mission, which I later served in South America. I am now a college student, studying civil engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a missionary, I was able to share with others my convictions of the gospel, and how I was able to come to know they were true. As a boy, I had grown up knowing that we should study the scriptures. When I reached a certain age, I decided that it was time to put that principle into practice. I started to read the Book of Mormon, and after finishing it for the first time, I prayed, asking God if what I had read was true. A simple--yet profound--feeling came, confirming that what I had asked about was indeed true. I can still remember this experience, many years later. God speaks to His children--all of us!

How I live my faith

I love serving others, and seeing how their lives can change for the better. I have taught Sunday School, where my knowledge of gospel topics has grown as I prepared to teach others about its principles.
