Hi I'm Camarie

I'm a Mortgage Lending Professional, Running & Yoga Enthusiast, StepMom, and Gospel Doctrine Instructor. I'm a Mormon

About Me

After a challenging day in the mortgage lending industry followed by a vigorous run or gym session, nothing beats coming home, throwing on "comfies" and spending quality time with my "favorites" (my husband Andrew and our son Ashton). We love being active (Ashton calls it ex-ter-size)...you will often find us outside taking hikes, BBQ'ing, going on weekend adventures, rock climbing or finding new places to get treats (I love sugar, isn't that why you run??). Naturally we take thousands of pictures each year so we can remember that we not only work hard but play hard as well! Our little family are also die-hard music fans...we each (yes including Ashton) have dozens of playlists and are always on the lookout for new music and fun concerts! After a couple years of marriage we finally bought our first home and life includes the "joys of home ownership" including endless HGTV-style home renovation projects, thank goodness my husband is so talented and tolerates the many home renovation shows I DVR!

Why I am a Mormon

I have found that religion and morals bring direction, purpose and depth to my life. It is the "why" behind the "what" that I choose each day. How can one make the little choices if they are unsure of what their end goal is? I chose to be Mormon because I have always felt overwhelming feelings of "truth" and "peace" when praying and reading the doctrine. Nothing worth having is ever easy they say and that is very true, being Mormon is not easy, and following rules and committing to a way of life is often going to be challenging and unpopular...but doing the right thing always is, and I know that to be true. With that said, it's worth it...every moment...because if my goal is to be like Christ and to become all that I am capable of, that takes effort and faith - I am up for the challenge! I love that the focus of the church is family, and love, and happiness and friendship and the process of imperfections becoming perfections through our loving Savior! I testify that our Savior and our Heavenly Father are committed to helping us through this process of becoming like Christ and love us through every single up and down along the way! I know this because I've survived many individual ups and downs and have felt their constant love and help throughout my life.

How I live my faith

Because Andrew and I teach in church multiple times of month we love reading and studying for our lesson together - it's really a blessing to be able to express your deep thoughts and feelings on important and personal things and to get sincere feedback and support from your spouse. We love teaching Sunday school together but often joke that we are the least qualified to teach the doctrines of the church as we feel we are still learning them ourselves - however there have been countless times that we have felt heavenly help and the love and support of those in our class as we work to "become" teachers. At the end of the day I constantly thank my Heavenly Father for the many blessings in my life...I have found if you look for God's blessings each day you will be overwhelmed with how involved He really is in your life and how close you can truly feel to Him!
