Hi I'm Anthony Davis

I live in Minnesota and grew up in California. I am a deaf professional working a state government job. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First and foremost I am a husband and father of five amazing children. I work as a consultant/specialist (case management & social work) focused on improving the lives of people and families that are impacted by hearing loss. I have a masters degree in social work and use what I studied in my everyday work, church and home life. What do I love? People, all people; people from every walk of life, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, profession, those who struggle, those who don't as much, I just love them. I also enjoy MLB baseball, College football and basketball, and watching the Olympics. I love family vacations and outings of all sorts.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Mormon Church when I was 21 years old. I grew up Catholic and loved God my whole life despite challenges that I faced daily. Despite my belief in God, I had a rough and brutal childhood. I was exposed to a life that no one should have to be exposed to. I looked death in the eye on several occasions and was witness to awful things. Then one day I had the opportunity to sit down with two Missionaries and learn about the Mormon Church and The Plan of Salvation. It was if the inside of a dark cave (my previous life) was lit by a million lanterns. I instantly knew what they taught was true and it brought hope into my life. Since, I have been a member of the Mormon church for 20 years and I can say that I have a life of light, peace and happiness. Everything and I mean everything good in my life is a result of my finding this church. I have had my trials and challenges since 20 years ago, but I have never felt alone in facing them, and I know it will always work out because of the promises made to me by my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I'm a person that believes in serving my fellow man and woman to no end. I love my Heavenly Father, my Savior Jesus Christ and love all of Heavenly Fathers children. I serve as a second counselor in the bishopric in my ward (congregation). This is a volunteer position, but was extended to me as a calling. In my calling, I work with the most amazing youth, I also teach on occasion, offer counsel, visit those who are sick or struggling and visit people just to get to know them.
