Hi I'm Jeremy Kay

I live in Chesterfield, I know the restored gospel of Jesus Christ continually brings blessings to both me and my family

About Me

I have always worked in business. I have been married for 20 years and have four children. I consider the opportunity to raise a family a great privilege and when I look back at my life hope to say "I did my best!" I enjoy gardening I started out growing fruit and vegetables (I've grown 32 different varieties this year), then realized I should also grow some flowers too if only to cheer up my lovely wife, I still have flowers blooming in my garden and as I write this it is the end of December!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm the father of four children and I enjoy being with my family. As my children have grown up (we currently have three teenagers) we have always wanted to give them the best. Of course our concept of what is best and their concept of what is best is usually very different, they would like the latest technology, a pet or new clothes, yet as their father I desire for them to learn value in the things that matter most, friendship, reliability, a Christlike love of others with a genuine desire to serve and help, a strong work ethic and a pleasant personality. For me these are the things that matter most and bring the most happiness. The gospel of Jesus Christ continually helps me to understand, experience and develop these attributes and these are the greatest gifts I can give to my children.

How I live my faith

The Chesterfield Ward is very special to me, as I moved here from Doncaster in 1988 and at that time there were no members meeting in the town. Another young man also moved in to Chesterfield around the same time we became friends and we volunteered to go out together home teaching members of the church. We visited the families we had been assigned to visit in Sheffield and when we met with our leader the following Sunday we told him we had driven over 70 miles in one night. "Why don't you give us some people to visit in Chesterfield?" we asked, "good idea" he said, and immediately gave us some names and addresses of families who had not been out to church for some time. We started visiting these families and many came out to church again, many who were not members got baptised and we soon re opened the Chesterfield Branch which has now become the Chesterfield ward (a larger congregation). Over the years I have been involved in the Church in many ways and the service in helping others always brings me and my family the greatest happiness and joy. As well as home teaching I have been helping teach a class in Sunday School of new church members and people who are interested in becoming members, this is one of the most rewarding experiences. As I prepare the lesson each week I feel the spirit of the Lord helping me and as I present the lessons I feel the spirit of the Lord touch the people I teach, as they ask questions, participate and then go out and test the principles taught in their lives as step by step they find the truths of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ blessing their lives On the 27th April 2014 we met in the new Chesterfield chapel for the first time, it was dedicated with a very special, inspiring and uplifting prayer. This is a very exciting time for us and I am sure the blessing of the gospel of Jesus Christ will pour out upon the town of Chesterfield to those who are seeking truth peace and deeper meaning in their lives

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Jeremy Kay
I hope to look back at my life and say "I did my best" I know I am not good or pure enough to live in the presence of God nor, ever will be but I do know there is still a way through the Atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The Old Testament Prophesied of Christ, the New testament taught of Christ, the Book of Mormon is another testament and a further witness of Christ's sacrifice for us so we can acheive the highest heavenly rewards. So yes I really do believe in grace. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Jeremy Kay
Yes! come and hear him speak, read what he writes, then see for yourself what he says and sincerely ask yourself if what he teaches will benefit your life.
