Hi I'm Marco Mummey

I grew up in Edmonds, Washington. I love soccer and Brazil. I attend Brigham Young University. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am someone who believes it is very important to live what you believe. I recently returned from a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salvador, Brazil. There I saw many different people and the way they were brought up. I am grateful for my own upbringing in the gospel of Jesus Christ. My family may be broken, but we still learned the importance of Jesus Christ. I am currently studying for my business degree at Brigham Young University. The opportunity I have to gain an education is amazing to me. I know that I am learning and preparing myself for a bright future. I hope to one day have a career where I will learn more every single day. The things I learn will bless the lives of many others for years to come. Mostly I hope to raise a happy and healthy family one day. I am grateful for the hope that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me. Even though I stumble and fall, I can always get back up. I know that I still can have the happiness of a family that follows the example of the Savior Jesus Christ. I work every day and hope for the wonderful day where I can return to the presence of my Savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon to be true. I prayed and felt in my heart that it was true. From there I concluded that Joseph Smith was a true prophet because he translated it. That meant that the church he restored was also true. This is how I came to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I know it to be the restored gospel which Christ originally established in His day. It was then brought back to the earth through revelation to Joseph Smith. I am grateful for this because today we can follow the words of God through His prophet today. I know that if we are diligent in keeping the commandments in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, we can hope for a bright future. Indeed we can hope for eternal life with God and our loved ones.

How I live my faith

I participate by helping in our Sunday school. I enjoy learning from the other great teachers who all bring new insights to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Everyone benefits because we can all better apply Christ's teachings in our own lives. I try to live my faith by doing three simple things: 1. Pray daily 2. Study the scriptures daily 3. Go to church every Sunday

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Marco Mummey
God is our loving Heavenly Father. He is perfect and exercises mercy and justice. We believe that God has a body and thus we are created in His image. The only difference is that God has a perfected body. One day we will all be resurrected and have immortal bodies. As our Heavenly Father, God wants us to obey him so that we can return to live in His presence after this life. Show more Show less
