Hi I'm Taylor Jewett

I'm a songwriter, I'm a redhead, I love the outdoors, I'm an avid canyoneer, I love life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest in my family, and my two older siblings and I are all adopted. I love music and art. I love composing music. I've been a jazz musician since middle school, singing and playing the saxophone. I also play the piano, ukulele, bass clarinet, and a little bit of guitar. I love sports of all kinds, but especially volleyball. I love the outdoors. I'm a rock climbing and rappelling instructor with the Boy Scouts of America. I love canyoneering...that's my favorite pastime in the summer. I'm really quirky. I can do a lot of weird impressions and sounds. I really, really, really love food--I can eat like there's no tomorrow. I like hugging. I'm a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I'm serving in the Baton Rouge Louisiana Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, but I had to learn if it was true or not for myself, just like everyone else. I'd always hoped that it was true, but I didn't truly know until I decided that I really wanted to. It honestly started with a simple decision that I wanted to be happy, so I chose to believe that this is true because I see the happiness it brings, and the truth of it has been proven to me over and over and over. Music has also played a big role in my conversion. I think that music is one of the best ways for the Spirit of God to touch our hearts, and I have seen it touch mine so much in my own life. Music changes everything for me--mood, thoughts, feelings, and especially my relationship with my Father in Heaven. It draws me closer to Him every day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every single day in everything that I do. My faith isn't just something I have, it's a part of the most intricate workings of my heart. It's in everything I am, everything that I believe, everything I say. It's more than just something I know...it's the very essence of my being. My faith brings me so much happiness, and I get to share that happiness with everyone I come in contact with, by the way that I am and the way that I act and treat others. I am also serving as a full-time missionary in the Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission.
