Hi I'm Shawn Rios

I grew up in Riverside, CA. The gospel of Jesus Christ offered me direction in life when I needed it most. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently working as a marketing professional. More importantly I am a father of four who enjoys spending time with family. My wife and I have been married for 25 years and feel blessed to have the gospel in our lives to help strengthen our marriage. I have enjoyed showing my love and support for each of my children as they have participated in various activities over the last several years. I also appreciate that we are able to live by many extended family members and that our children are able t enjoy a close association with cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Through my life experiences I have learned to appreciate the values and differences in others. It has been important for me to teach my children that "People Matter". Being of service to others can be challenging when life gets busy, but I have learned that great blessings come when we seek to assist others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I recognize the many blessings that come from my service and commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I appreciate the guidance and direction that the gospel affords me as I study its principles and seek to follow its teachings. I have a testimony of a loving Heavenly Father and know that he lives, watches over me, and blesses me with those things that I stand in need of. I also have a testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that he lives, loves me, and suffered and died for me. I recognize the value of the atonement in my life and the opportunity it affords me to make good on mistakes that I have made. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and recognize that living its principles helps me become the type of person that I desire to be. The gospel has also helped me to recognize my potential and the potential in others. I like who I am and the feelings I have when I am doing my best to live a good life and serve others.

How I live my faith

I have grown to love service and have held many callings. I currently serve in the bishopric of a Young Single Adult ward and have felt great joy as I have been able to associate with such great young people. It is exciting to see our youth embrace the gospel and actively live its principles. I also have a great love for Home Teaching and have seen the blessings that come when we learn to serve and love others. Seeing my daughter married in the temple and watching my sons progress in the Priesthood has brought me great joy in life. Our family has committed to accepting all of the callings that we are asked to fulfill. We fill it is a demonstration of our faith and trust in The Lord to accept even those callings that make us feel a little uncomfortable. We know that The Lord will provide a way for us to accomplish all of the work He has for us to do.
