Hi I'm Megan

I'm a middle school teacher, history buff, literature enthusiast, film fan, photographer, and musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. I still live here and love it! I'm the oldest of three children. Growing up I was always super shy, but I was able to break out of my shell slowly as I got involved in school, music, dance, and other activities. It wasn't until I got on my high school newspaper staff that I finally started becoming the person I am today as I learned to interact with others, learn about the world around me, and ultimately be myself. I love learning, so that's probably why I chose to live a life where I'm constantly learning. I ultimately went "back to school." I teach middle school English and history. :) My hobbies are so diverse and change constantly because I love so many different things! I'm an avid music lover. I play the piano, flute, euphonium, and guitar. Plus, I love to sing. Lately I've been listening to a lot of jazz, blues, indie pop, folk, stuff like that. I love finding somewhat undiscovered talent on YouTube. I'm also a bookworm. Whenever I get some spare time, you can find me engulfed in a book. I dabble in photography too. I love learning languages, watching films and documentaries, baking, painting, doing genealogy, playing my guitar, doing crossword puzzles, and watching sports. I guess some might call me a jack of all trades, a master of none. Most importantly though, the Savior and His gospel are my biggest loves and shape my life more than anything. I'm so grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that this gospel is true with all of my heart. Yes, I was born in the church. But I was able to experience a full conversion as I discovered for myself that it is true by the power and confirmation of the Holy Ghost. I'm a Mormon because I love God and my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that they would want me here as a member of the flock doing all I can to follow them. I'm a Mormon because this life brings me more joy and happiness than I could ever hope to have if I was living my life any other way. I've experienced the sorrow and confusion of letting the gospel slip out of importance in my life, and I don't ever want to feel that again. With the Savior and His Church comes the love, comfort, peace, joy, and happiness we all seek.

How I live my faith

My faith is a part of my very being. My beliefs have shaped everything about me, and I live my faith in all of my daily activities, actions, and words. I try to help those around me whenever I can and treat everyone like the children of God they are. In my ward, I'm the visiting teaching coordinator. In other words, I help to supervise a network of sisters in our ward as we befriend, look after, and care for each other. Really, we spread the love of God amongst each other. Love is huge, and living my life with love for others and for God is truly how I live my faith.
